How Taylor Swift could have a major impact on NFL fans’ fantasy football teams

A study has shown that Travis Kelce and his relationship with Taylor Swift is at the front of the minds of fantasy football players who have the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on their teams.

Kelce and Swift’s relationship has been front-page news since it began in September of 2023 – with the couple’s every move being tracked and written about since.

But if something were to happen that might end their relationship, then fantasy sports owners might start to panic.

According to a survey of over 3,000 fantasy football players conducted by RotoGrinders, 26 percent of players would drop Kelce if he broke up with Swift.

Additionally, the survey found that some fantasy owners would change their team based on Swift’s picks if she decided to make them public.

Of course, that might be due to some players’ fandom and/or loyalty to Swift. It may also be because Kelce has been struggling this season.

Yes, the Chiefs are 10-1 and yes, Kelce does lead the team in receiving yards. But after finishing with just shy of 1,000 yards last season, he’s not on track to do the same this year.

Currently, Kelce has 569 receiving yards – good for 34th in the NFL. Among tight ends, he’s fourth behind league-leader Brock Bowers of the Raiders, Trey McBride of the Cardinals, and George Kittle of the 49ers.

Then again, Kelce’s always been able to turn his competitive level up a notch when it comes to the playoffs – which Kansas City could clinch this weekend.

The Chiefs could clinch a playoff berth with a win against the Raiders on Black Friday – coupled with either a Miami Dolphins loss or a Denver Broncos loss.

Kansas City is currently the second-favorites to win Super Bowl LIX behind the Detroit Lions.
