Carina Miribile is arguably the most fashionable bride in this season of Married At First Sight (MAFS). From her hair to her makeup and her show-stopping outfits, Carina’s elevated sense of style has been praised by viewers from the get-go. But now, Carina has revealed how much her on-screen aesthetic has cost her — and boy, it was an investment.
In an interview with her stylist Jacob Muller, Carina dished the dirt on everything that went into her glam, from the thought processes to the hefty pricetag and revealed that she paid for all of her glam out of pocket.
“From a styling point of view, production doesn’t give you any money or reimbursement to purchase your own outfits. It’s all done on your own accord,” Carina admitted.
“I probably spent 12 to 15 grand on outfits all throughout the season. When you think about it, that’s six months of filming, five days a week, and every day has to essentially be a look and production have to approve your outfit.”
For Carina, spending the big bucks on glam wasn’t just about ensuring she looked her best on camera. As someone with a fashion degree and an e-commerce clothing brand, Carina says her on-screen investment goes beyond a passion for fashion.
“It comes second nature to me,” she said.
“Even before we started filming, I was like, ‘Okay, there is eight weeks come up with eight different looks, eight different looks’. And we really tried to be diverse. I wanted to have a wow factor so that the viewers of the show could get influenced by the looks when they’re going out or having a dinner party with their friends.”
“As a fashion girlie, she’s not going to go into a dinner party wearing Fashion Nova,” quipped Jacob.

So far, one of Carina’s most controversial looks was the peach dress with the hood. However, she’s defending her fashion choice with gusto.
“That dress was Giuseppe Di Morabito, and it was an Italian designer, $1800, and I’m so lucky that I managed to get my hands on that dress because it’s basically a one-off,” she exclaimed.
“Kylie [Jenner] wore it!”

Carina’s on-screen clothing wasn’t the only investment she made. Each week, she spent $1,500 on hair and makeup.
“Roughly, it was like $1,500 a week for hair and make-up,” Jacob revealed, noting how much time and effort went into planning and executing the detailed looks.
“Obviously, when you’re on reality TV, you want to look and feel your best, right? That’s what we do.”
Despite only meeting when the show kicked off, Carina and Jacob have become fast friends and are hoping to start a podcast together called The Glam Pod.
“I think The Glam Pod is going official,” Jacob said.
“We’ll see you guys in a few weeks!”
Cute! I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
