A pair of cheeky cockatoos have been busted tucking into a takeaway pizza left outside a hotel room in Queensland’s Whitsundays.
The holidaymaker discovered their pizza box had been flung open and ransacked by a couple of unlikely culprits shown in a video uploaded to Reddit this week.
‘Try explaining to UberEats that the pizza never showed up,’ they captioned the video.
The video pans from vision of the empty box to two cockatoos perched on a nearby handrail.
Both the native birds were seen nonchalantly snacking on what remained of the pizza while gazing out to the tropical vista below.
Aussies accustomed to cheeky cockatoos were not that surprised.
‘I knew it would be a bloody cockatoo before I saw it! Destroyers!’ one wrote.
‘Cockatoos are way smarter than people give them credit for. My grandma owned one and it felt like another person in the house,’ a second wrote.

‘Absolutely, like toddlers with can openers attached to their faces,’ a third shared.
Other viewers said the cockatoos in the Whitsundays were particularly brazen and had stolen jewellery and shiny objects from hotel rooms.
But others described the theft as ‘iconic’.
‘How sweet. These guys mate for life… this couple has likely been going a long time,’ one viewer said.
Sulphur-crested cockatoos typically live for 20 to 40 years in the wild but can live up to 80 years in captivity.
