Higher Education: The Academy of Scientific Research announces that Egypt will host the General Assembly of the Partnership between Academies in 2025
In implementation of the directives of Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed the importance of working to achieve sustainability and strengthening the international reference for consolidating scientific relations in accordance with the axes and principles of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030. The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announced that Egypt will host the General Assembly of the Partnership between Academies in 2025.
This is considered It is the first time that the General Assembly of the Partnership between Academies is held in an Arab country, and the second time in Africa after South Africa. This is an important achievement in the process of scientific research in Egypt, as it will allow hosting members of scientific academies from different parts of the world, and this includes Egypt’s accession to the committee. The IAP Advisory Committee, consisting of elected members, a representative from each regional network affiliated with the programme, as well as a representative from the host academy or the national academy of the host country, for a period of three years. The advisory committee works to compile recommendations necessary to formulate policy papers; Which enhances Egypt’s role in the international scientific scene.
For her part, Dr. Gina El-Feki, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, explained that the Academy had submitted last August a proposed file for Egypt to host the General Assembly of the Partnership between Academies ( IAP) In 2025, the proposal competed with five other countries for the right to host, and the decision was taken to host Egypt in 2025 with the support of all members of the Board of Directors.
It is worth noting that the General Assembly of the Partnership between Academies is held every three years, and it was held This year’s Inventor Assistance and Advisory Program Board Joint Meeting at the Malaysian Academy of Sciences in Kuala Lumpur on 7-8 October 2024 Under the umbrella of the Inter-Academy Partnership (IAP), approximately 150 national, regional and global academies are working together to support the vital role that science plays in creating existing solutions.
The Global Young Academies Meeting will bring together early-career scientists, engineers and medical professionals from more than 50 young academies around the world, enhancing the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
< p>The Inter-Academy Partnership General Assembly was launched in 1993 as a body bringing together an expert committee from three well-established networks of academies of science, medicine and engineering, and today the Inter-Academy Partnership (IAP) works to unite these three networks. In addition, the Partnership advises a global audience And decision makers on the scientific aspects of critical global issues, such as: poverty, sustainable development, climate change, biotechnology, and global health, and also focuses on improving science education and scientific literacy in member countries around the world.
