Higher Education: The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announces that Cairo has won the title of Green Innovation Capital for the year 2024
Under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology organized a competition to choose the “Green Innovation Capital for 2024,” based on five main axes that include: factors for producing innovations, the enabling environment, innovation in services, and organizational and marketing innovation. And green innovation.
Dr. Gina El-Feki, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, announced that Cairo Governorate won first place by obtaining 78.53 out of 100, thanks to its excellence in the fields of green innovation and services, And the victory of Port Said Governorate In second place with a score of 67.51, for its excellence in environmental projects of an international nature, while Beheira Governorate came in third place with a score of 67.16, thanks to its initiatives in saving energy and reducing industrial pollution.
Dr. Gina El-Feki indicated that the index that was achieved Designed by the Egyptian Observatory for Science, Technology and Innovation in 2016, it is a reference tool for measuring governorates’ efforts in developing innovative environments. She added that the current version of the index witnessed broad participation from 22 governorates nationwide, which reflects the growing interest in the shift towards sustainability and green innovation in various parts of Egypt.
