Higher Education launches a competition "Best university for student activities" For the year 2024/2025

The Student Activities Sector announced, after the approval of the Supreme Council of Universities, the launch of the “Best University for Student Activities” competition. For the academic year 2024/2025, under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This competition aims to enhance the role of student activities in building the personalities of university students, and to support the development of their personal and social skills, which contributes to deepening the spirit of Loyalty and belonging among university youth. It also aims to create a conscious generation capable of facing the challenges of the future and contributing effectively to its society.  

Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, stated that the competition came out of the keenness of the Supreme Council of Universities (Education and Student Sector) to implement all the principles and objectives of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030, and to work hard to ensure regularity. The educational process will proceed according to the plans drawn up in this regard, stressing the importance of student activities in building the student’s personality and enhancing his national belonging.

 

For his part, Dr. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities, said that the competition aims to motivate universities to improve and develop student activities by creating an educational environment characterized by creativity and effective participation. He pointed out that the competition is in line with the Ministry’s objectives in enhancing student participation in community and scientific activities, which helps prepare a generation capable of interacting with global and local challenges.

 

The " Best University for Student Activities" A distinctive initiative based on a set of basic standards that aims to evaluate student activities in Egyptian universities and enhance their role in achieving comprehensive development. These standards include the compatibility of activities with the national strategy for higher education to ensure consistency with national plans, the development of financial resources through concepts and proposals to support activities, in addition to measuring the role of student training centers in implementing simulation models and supporting activities. The volume of student participation and the extent of their involvement in activities within universities and colleges, in addition to participation in national and international activities, are also evaluated. The competition pays special attention to supporting activities for students with disabilities and appreciating the efforts of universities in this field, as well as activities that contribute to community service, environmental development, and strengthening loyalty and national belonging. The competition also includes measuring students’ satisfaction with the activities provided through questionnaires aimed at collecting their opinions and improving the university experience.
