We now know the backstory of that spicy video of Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek at Paris Fashion Week.
On Sunday, a clip of Nicole Kidman saying what looks like some stern words and giving the cold shoulder to Salma Hayek at the Balenciaga Paris Fashion Week show went viral. As does any video that appears to contain even a smidgen of beef, it launched a hell of a lot of speculation over what went down and why.
You can see the moment (and the rhetoric it launched) below.
But now, we know what really happened. According to an insider, there really isn’t any bad blood between them. However, they were growing increasingly frustrated with the paparazzi surrounding them.
“There is no issue,” the insider said, per Daily Mail.
“This is a snippet of a video that doesn’t represent reality. There is a photo of them posing together. Nothing happened.
“They were talking about something concerning advice and having a pow-wow — while being bombarded and yelled at and surrounded from all angles by cameras. They just wanted to go.”
“They are friends and are fine despite what anyone thinks,” the source continued.
“Nicole is not rude. At all. She may be awkward at times, but she is not rude.”
Relatable queen, honestly.
To get to the bottom of the supposed drama, Daily Mail even got a forensic lip-reading expert on the case. I hardly think this is an exact science but let’s see what he said for fun, shall we?
According to expert Jeremy Freeman, Salma was telling Nicole and Katy Perry to look at the photographers.
“Let’s turn there, okay here,” Hayek said.
“Kidman replied: ‘Hey, I’m fine, I’m good’,” Kidman replied.
After kissing Katy on the cheek, Nicole declared she’d had enough.
“There, it’s enough, it’s okay,” she apparently said before hot stepping out of there.
As two seasoned Hollywood professionals, I find it hard to believe that these two would be so brazen to have words in front of so many hungry photographers. Plus, Salma even posted a snap of her and Nicole together on her Instagram.
I think it’s fair to say the case is closed. Well, until the next ambiguous viral drama hits our screens.
