The passengers of the train Hendaye-Paris remained blocked for nearly 9 hours, during the night of Friday November 22 to Saturday November 23. Leaving Hendaye (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) shortly after 6 p.m., the train stopped at Morcenx-La-Nouvelle (Landes) due to an electrical fire. “There are always problems on the Bayonne SNCF line, and we keep bringing it up and nothing changes“, laments a traveler.
After the intervention of SNCF network agents, the TGV left around 1:30 a.m., before arriving 2 hours later in Bordeaux (Gironde). Meal trays were provided to passengers. Some ate and slept at the station, to be able to take the first train to Paris. Others chose the hotel option, offered by the SNCF. “We were picked up from a hotel really close to the station.” confirms a woman. The SNCF will compensate up to 150% of the ticket price.
