Health: Operating 10 stroke-dissolving units in Al-Sharqiya hospitals within 5 months

The Ministry of Health and Population announced the establishment and operation of 10 units to dissolve strokes in Sharkia Governorate hospitals in less than 5 months, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to raise the efficiency of medical services provided to patients in all governorates of the Republic.

 

 

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that The first units for dissolving strokes were opened in Sharkia Governorate last August in Faqus Central Hospital, while the rest of the units were operated in (Zagazig General, Abu Kabir, Al-Saadien, Belbeis, Awlad Saqr, Kafr Saqr, Hahia, Deyarb Negm, and Al-Hussainiya Central) hospitals. Within several weeks.

Abdul Ghaffar confirmed that strokes are the third cause Death globally, and the number one cause of paralysis, explaining that the most prominent symptoms of a stroke are stuttering or finding it difficult to speak and understand others, loss of consciousness, feeling numb, weak, or paralyzed in the face, arm, or leg, and vision disturbances in one or both eyes. Or double vision, headache accompanied by vomiting, dizziness, and disturbance of consciousness, and the affected person may lose his balance or have difficulty controlling movement.

 

It is For his part, Dr. Hani Jumaa, Director of the Directorate of Health Affairs in Sharqia, pointed out the importance of these units in saving the lives of patients and those suffering from strokes, especially when dealing with the injured person within the first four hours of feeling symptoms.

 

He added «all» Al-Sharqiyah has become one of the distinguished governorates in the number of stroke treatment centers, pointing out that medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and technicians in Al-Sharqiyah Governorate, have been trained on how to deal with cases of stroke.
