The Ministry of Health and Population announced that it received 56 million, 427 thousand and 878 visits from women, to receive examination and awareness services, as part of the President of the Republic’s sustainable initiative to support Egyptian women’s health, since its launch in July 2019 until the end of December 2024.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry’s official spokesman, explained that the total number of visits is divided into 22 million. And 396 thousand and 345 first-time visits, 21 million and 709 thousand and 888 periodic visits, and 12 million and 321 thousand and 645 casual visits.
The official spokesman called on women to periodically check on their health. Abdul Ghaffar mentioned: 770,905 women visited hospitals to undergo advanced examinations within the initiative, pointing out that the initiative provides free services for examining women through 3,663 health units across the governorates of the Republic, in addition to the participation of 102 hospitals, to provide medical service to women whose condition requires an advanced examination, Pointing out that inquiries are received through the hotline of the “100 Million Health” initiative. For his part, Dr. Hatem Amin, Executive Director of the initiative, pointed out that 30,798 cases of breast cancer were discovered, and a procedure 402,988 mammograms since the launch of the initiative, in addition to withdrawing 46,989 tumor samples for analysis, and providing “free” treatment. For cases that were confirmed to be infected, in addition to examining 104,494 women in the primary clinics of the mobile units, 46,989 women were withdrawn and pathologically analyzed.
