Health: 373,000 citizens were examined and interviewed to obtain an integrated services card in 2024

 Increasing the number of medical committees to 528 to facilitate procedures for people of determination in all governorates

 

The Ministry of Health and Population announced a debate and medical examinations for more than 373 thousand citizens Those who applied to obtain the integrated services card, in all governorates of the Republic during the year 2024. These efforts come in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, aimed at strengthening Caring for people of determination and supporting their full integration into society.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, confirmed that the Ministry has increased the number of medical committees designated for medical examination of people with special needs to 528 committees nationwide, and these include Hospital committees affiliated with the Ministry, university hospitals, in addition to armed forces and police hospitals, in order to ensure facilitating procedures for citizens and providing the necessary medical coverage in various governorates.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that The categories eligible to obtain the “Integrated Services Card” It includes a wide range of disability conditions, including multi-limb or single-limb amputation, quadriplegia or cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and polio in one or more limbs. Other conditions include blindness, multiple disabilities, Down syndrome, and intellectual disabilities with an IQ of no more than 35%, in addition to the autism spectrum and dwarfism.

Abdul Ghaffar added that the Ministry conducted the necessary medical examinations for 291,000 citizens who applied to benefit from cash support within the “Takaful” program. “And dignity,” referring to the debate between 163,91 citizens seeking cars equipped for people with special needs, which are exempt from taxes and customs duties.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Zidan, Head of the Central Administration for Therapeutic Medicine and Director General of the Councils, explained Specialized Medical Services said that obtaining an integrated services card requires registering personal data through the official website of the Ministry. The required data includes full name, national number, type of disability, phone number, and address, adding that the applicant receives a text message. On his mobile phone, the date and place of the medical examination are determined, noting that the site operates around the clock.

Zidan stressed that the Ministry of Health and Population is committed to governing medical procedures and providing the necessary support to facilitate people with disabilities’ access to the integrated services card, explaining that the committees The Ministry’s medical services, in cooperation with university hospitals, the armed forces, and the police, are the authorities responsible for conducting the required medical examinations, and after completing the procedures, applications are referred to the Ministry of Social Solidarity, which is responsible for issuing the integrated services card.
