
Harvard students have been ordered to shelter in place amid reports of a shooting near campus.
Transit police are responding to reports of gunfire near the Harvard Square MBTA train station, according to an alert shared by the university.
‘Please enter the nearest building and stay there until the all clear is given,’ the message read.
Police are currently searching the area for a suspect, according to the alert.
The MBTA warned passengers to expect delays along the red line.
‘Shuttle buses are replacing service between Central and Alewife due to police activity at Harvard,’ an alert said.
‘Passengers should expect delays as shuttles are being dispatched.’
