Greek Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopos said after meeting with Pentagon officials in Athens that Greece will receive fifth-generation F-35 fighter-bombers from the United States.
It is noteworthy that the Greek government had previously asked the United States to buy “a large group of F-35 aircraft”.
At a meeting in Athens, the Greek Defense Minister and representatives of the Pentagon discussed the timing of delivery of the F-35, its number and characteristics.
According to Protothema, by the beginning of 2030, the F-35 will be used to defend the Aegean Sea.
It is reported that in the past six months, this is the third negotiation between the United States and Greece on the contract for the supply of combat aircraft.
