The Grand Mufti of the Republic, Dr. Nazir Ayyad, said that the Al-Azhar Mosque is a beacon of legal science, a fortified fortress for moderate moderate Islam, and a scientific and cultural center that illuminates the path of the Islamic nation with wisdom and knowledge.
Ayyad added- in a statement, today, Thursday; On the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Al-Azhar Mosque- that this ancient Islamic edifice was not just a mosque in which the prayer was held, but rather, since its inception, it was an integrated scientific university, which is intended by students of science from different parts of the earth, to draw from the sciences of Sharia, language and enlightened Islamic thought, and to return to their country ambassadors of science, and a holder of the message of Islam based on mercy, tolerance and openness to the other. In light of the intellectual challenges facing our world today, Al -Azhar remains the immoral fortress in the face of extremism and extremism, based on its firm approach that combines the preservation of the principles of religion and openness to the developments of the times, embodying the original model of Islam that came as a mercy to the worlds. Semitism through his educational and advocacy institutions, and through his fatwas that illuminate the paths of Muslims with the correct awareness, and protect them with the pitfalls of intellectual deviation and the wrong interpretations of the legal texts.
