The red carpet for The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ annual Governors Awards is open.
The starry evening, considered the first major campaign stop for the year’s Oscar contenders, will include the presentation of honorary Oscars to the late Quincy Jones, the first Black producer to be nominated for best picture, and legendary casting director Juliet Taylor. Screenwriter and director Richard Curtis receives the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award while James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are recognized with the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.
Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Daniel Craig, Robbie Williams, Guy Pearce, Felicity Jones and Marianne Jean-Baptiste were among the stars who turned out for the Motion Picture Academy’s second-biggest night of the year. Check out the best red carpet photos from the Governors Awards gala below.
