Government: There is no validity in cutting down palm trees and rare trees in the Orman Historical Park coinciding with the implementation of its development plan

The Media Center of the Council of Ministers denied the news that spread about the cutting of palm trees and rare trees in the historic Orman Park coinciding with the implementation of its development plan.

The Media Center explained – in a statement today, Monday – that it is communicating with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. , which denied these reports, stressing that there is no truth to the cutting of palm trees and rare trees in the historic Orman Park simultaneously with the implementation of its development plan, and that what is only happening is the process of replacing and renewing the park’s infrastructure, without affecting any of the historical trees, or adding any extraneous buildings to the park, As a great cultural heritage and an important botanical treasure, the Orman Garden includes a rare collection of trees and palms, and contains more than 100 species, 300 genera and 600 species of plants. The garden is also a center for scientific research in the field of plants, as it has a seed exchange section with various gardens. And research centers in the world.
