"Good Egypt" The first cycle of the Institutional Excellence Grant for Non-Governmental Work Organizations 2024 concludes

Under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action, Eng. Margaret Sarofim, Deputy Minister of Social Solidarity, on behalf of Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, witnessed the closing ceremony of the first session of the Institutional Excellence Grant for Civil Work Organizations 2024, which was organized by the Misr El Kheir Foundation. This was in the presence of Ambassador Nabila Makram, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action, Dr. Saleh Al-Sheikh, Head of the Central Organization for Organization and Administration, Dr. Mohamed Rifai, CEO of the Misr Al-Khair Foundation, and Dr. Mohamed Mamdouh, Head of the NGO Development Sector. 

The Deputy Minister of Social Solidarity expressed her happiness to participate in this important event organized by the Misr Al-Khair Foundation, which is the celebration of the graduation of distinguished societies within the activities of the Institutional Distinction Grant for NGOs. This event is an embodiment of the importance of the effective role that civil society organizations play in Achieving sustainable development, including a social protection network that is integrated with the efforts provided by the Egyptian state.

Sarofim stressed that this important role of civil society comes in light of the support of the political leadership of civil society, as His Excellency the President of the Republic announced in 2022 Year for civil society, then the year 2022 witnessed the establishment of the National Alliance for Private Development Action, which plays an important role in unifying and coordinating the efforts of Egyptian civil society organizations. 

The Deputy Minister of Social Solidarity added that the Ministry of Social Solidarity believes in the role of civil society As a major partner in achieving the goals of sustainable development, it works in partnership with all parties to provide an enabling and enabling environment that supports civil society organizations, enabling them to perform their developmental and service role and enhance their impact, through a number of axes, including implementing joint projects with civil society associations, to enhance their capabilities. The Project Support Fund is a national fund that supports projects of associations and civil society institutions, and through the axis of training and qualification, it works to raise the capabilities of workers in associations, and coordination is also carried out with international organizations and business partners to achieve common development goals with civil society. 

She pointed out that In general, the Ministry is working through a clear strategy to empower civil society, build capabilities, and provide technical and financial support to it, while strengthening partnerships with all concerned parties to contribute to creating a real and tangible change that makes citizens feel, especially those who are most cared for, and contributes to achieving the goals of sustainable development and the vision of Egypt. 2030.

Sarofim confirmed that the Arab Center for Sustaining Civil Work at the Misr El Kheir Foundation and allocating a grant for excellence  The institutional framework for NGOs in its first edition 2023-2024, targeting building the institutional, technical and administrative capabilities of NGOs, and developing their work is a cornerstone and foundation for achieving sustainability, and it is a work that calls for thanks and appreciation for this large institution “Misr Al-Khair” and an example to be emulated, noting that There are 34 thousand civil society organizations that have reconciled their situation, a number of which need support in the framework of capacity building, which we emphasize in support of them in achieving their development role.

Sarofim congratulated the winning institutions and civil society organizations. Looking forward to further work in the framework of building institutional capacities for civil society, as this sector deserves all support to support our beloved country.

Sarofim also honored the winning institutions, and witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Misr El Kheir Foundation and the Faculty of Economics and Political Science. , to launch the Master’s in Community Resource Development and Community Investment, as well as launch the first interactive educational platform to support the sustainability of civil work.

For her part, Ambassador Nabila Makram, Head of the Technical Secretariat and Executive Director of the National Alliance for Private Development Action, praised the political leadership’s thought in paying attention By building human beings, noting that the slogan of the “Egypt Al Khair” Foundation is: Human development is our primary mission, and it is also in line with the presidential initiative to build human beings, praising the launch of the “Misr Al Khair” Foundation. From human development to the development of civil institutions, which confirms the extent of the Foundation’s interest in human building. 

Ambassador Nabila Makram added that the “Misr Al Khair” Foundation is not satisfied with From harvesting all the good she provided in human development until she decided to spread her development expertise to other institutions, this is a tremendous achievement in spreading community service, stressing that we are working in the National Alliance to consolidate the idea of ​​integration between institutions to serve the comprehensive development of the Egyptian person. Makram pointed out that transferring expertise and supporting civil society institutions to develop their service and sustain their work through Misr Al-Khair training the employees of the institutions and raising the voluntary enthusiasm of the volunteers, to benefit from these experiences under the umbrella of the National Alliance, to help the country in development with an honest and sincere heart.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Rifai, CEO of the Misr Al-Khair Foundation, said that “Misr Al-Khair” It is not only interested in providing basic human needs, but also contributing to achieving sustainable development within local communities, by working on a number of development fields, namely education, health, scientific research, social solidarity, and aspects of life, in the belief that the integration of these fields can contribute to the quality of life, and to achieve that vision, the adoption of Various work mechanisms, including working to develop the performance of civil society organizations and enabling local communities to participate in managing the development process and contributing to it.

He added that the institutional excellence grant for civil society organizations is a step that reflects the Foundation’s permanent commitment to strengthening and supporting civil society organizations out of belief in their role. The vital and tangible role that NGOs play in the development and service of society. 

Mohamed Rifai stressed that the implementation of this grant is a real investment in our society, as it will contribute to building strong NGOs capable of achieving a lasting positive impact. On the other hand, This grant will enhance cooperation between the Misr El Kheir Foundation and the NGOs targeted for the grant, in addition to enhancing sustainable community partnerships to achieve sustainable community development.
