Germany supplies Ukraine with a self-propelled howitzer PzH 2000

German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht said the country will transfer seven PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers to the Ukrainian side.

According to DPA, the equipment will be provided, and training of the Ukrainian army will begin next week.

Earlier, the German side announced its decision to transfer heavy weapons to Ukraine during a meeting of NATO Defense Ministers at the Ramstein military base on April 26.

On April 28, a majority of Bundestag deputies endorsed a document calling on the German government to increase military aid to Ukraine and to condemn hostilities in the country.

At the same time, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz responded to criticism in the Bundestag that Germany was not showing leadership in the West’s efforts to supply Ukraine with arms, saying he preferred to be careful.
