Georgia Palmer pays tribute to Jean Paul Gaultier’s punk chic legacy

Georgia Palmer pays tribute to Jean Paul Gaultier’s punk chic legacy

Can you tell us more about the hair looks?

Jacob Kajrup: For our hair looks the conversation was very simple, we had a moodboard of different beauty looks throughout the years. I generally like to pick up a texture first. I looked at the sleek and the softness, and whatever happens when the runway lights hit it. [I notice] common themes from the shows with the gold, the red and the blue.

I pride myself in being technical enough to work fast while on set, so I had the ideas in my head and as soon as Georgia showed up I already had a little space set up where I could spray paint and gold-dip wigs and extensions. It helps when you have someone like Georgia that you know can wear anything, it really makes my job a lot easier.

Was the make-up inspired by any particular references or influences?

Anna J Payne: While looking back at JPG shows and beauty looks through the years and it was the drama of the looks that really stuck out to me. I was particularly drawn to the idea of imperfection and felt that was a common theme across the looks, there was always something slightly off. That’s where my thinking started with these looks.
