Former UFC star Nate Diaz charged with battery after allegedly SLAPPING a nightclub bouncer in late-night altercation
Nate Diaz reportedly been charged with battery after being accused of striking a Las Vegas nightclub bouncer.
The news comes after a video of the incident which appears to show Diaz involved in an altercation was circulated widely online.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the alleged incident took place during the early hours of August 25 this year.
Per the documents Diaz and some of his entourage were looking to enter the OMNIA nightclub located at the Caesars Palace casino.
Police are said to have stated that onlookers told them Diaz and his team were holding up the line prompting the intervention from the bouncer.
After being questioned by the individual, Diaz is then said to have pushed the bouncer, and after he responded in kind, the former UFC title challenger hit him in the face with ‘an open right hand’.

Diaz last fought in July, improving his professional boxing record to 1-1 with a win over Jorge Masvidal
Following this police are said to have arrived on the scene but Diaz had already departed.
Court records reportedly show that an arrest warrant was subsequently issued for the 39-year-old, with a misdemeanor case now ongoing.
The recent case isn’t the first time Diaz has been accused of being involved in an altercation outside the cage.
In the lead up to his boxing debut against Jake Paul last year, Diaz attended his team-mate Chris Avila’s fight in New Orleans.
After the event Diaz was involved in a street fight that saw him place a man in a guillotine choke before dropping his unconscious body on the pavement.
Diaz’s last fight came in July when he bested Jorge Masvidal over ten rounds by majority decision to pick up his first victory as a boxer.
The showdown marked a rematch of their 2019 clash in MMA at UFC 244, where Masvidal defeated the Californian may doctor’s stoppage to claim the inaugural BMF title.
Diaz hasn’t stepped inside the cage since submitting Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 279 following a chaotic fight week that saw him face the former interim champion rather than surging contender Khamzat Chimaev.

39-year-old famously stepped in on short notice to hand Conor McGregor his first UFC defeat
The longtime fan favourite is arguably best remembered for his pair of fights with Conor McGregor.
At UFC 196 Diaz stepped in on short notice to face the Irishman after Rafael Dos Anjos had been forced to withdraw due to injury.
McGregor entered the clash undefeated inside the promotion but Diaz would ultimately emerge victorious, hurting McGregor on the feet before cinching in a rear-naked choke in the second round.
The pair would rematch at UFC 202 in one of the most highly-anticipated fights in the sport’s history.
This time it was McGregor who would get his hand raised, securing a majority decision victory after five hard-fought rounds at the T-Mobile Arena.
