Former Green Bay Packers star and Super Bowl champion Calvin Jones dies aged 54

Former Green Bay Packers running back Calvin Jones has died at the age of 54.

Jones, who played college football for Nebraska and won the Super Bowl with the Packers in 1997, was found dead in his Omaha home by first responders.

Omaha police told KETV that Jones’ death ‘was indicative of carbon monoxide poisoning.’

It’s reported Jones told his neighbor that he was having trouble with his furnace. As a result, his home had been cold and he was forced to use a generator.

Police officers assisted the fire department in response to calls about an odor of gas coming from the property. They found Jones deceased in the basement.

Jones played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1990 to 1993. He amassed 3,166 rushing yards and scored 40 touchdowns.
