Foreign Minister: Egypt is pursuing a policy of strategic balance in its relations to expand constructive partnerships

Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, today, Monday, held an extensive meeting with representatives of foreign media accredited in Egypt, within the framework of periodic interaction with foreign media to review internal developments and Egypt’s position on regional issues. span>
Minister Abdel-Ati touched on the integrated vision adopted by the Egyptian state regarding diversifying economic activities and increasing foreign direct investments in various fields, in light of the great advantages that Egypt enjoys and the promising opportunities available to foreign investors.> span>
He reviewed the many steps taken by Egypt during the recent period to improve the human rights system within the framework of comprehensive political reform.
He also addressed Egypt’s hosting of millions of refugees and immigrants and dealing with them on an equal basis with Egyptian citizens, despite the economic challenges facing Egypt, which imposes more burdens on the Egyptian state.< /span>
On another level, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reviewed all the challenges facing Egypt in light of the successive crises taking place in the region, as he provided an explanation of Egypt’s position on pressing regional issues, most notably the developments in the Gaza Strip, Syria, Sudan, and the Horn of Africa.< /span>
In this context, he discussed the principles governing Egyptian foreign policy in confronting these crises, which are based on the necessity of supporting the national state, respecting the sovereignty of states and the unity and integrity of their territories, non-interference in the internal affairs of states, and respect for international law and international conventions. >
He explained that the strategic balance policy pursued by Egypt in its foreign relations aims to expand constructive partnerships with friendly countries, in a way that achieves mutual benefits and common interests.< /span>
He also discussed Egyptian-African relations, and the efforts Egypt is making to support sister African countries, especially the Nile Basin countries. p>
