Health officials have reported the first death in the measles outbreak in West Texas.
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center spokesperson Melissa Whitfield confirmed the death to The Associated Press on Wednesday.
Details about the deceased, including their age and name, remain unknown.
The news comes as state authorities report 124 cases in the South Plains and Panhandle regions.
