Fears for driver who ploughed into a woman and crashed into Sydney Harbour – as search desperate rescue operation unfolds

A major rescue operation is underway after a car hit a woman and plunged into the Sydney Harbour.
Emergency services were called to Manns Point in Greenwich on Sydney’s lower north shore about 4.15pm on Monday after a car accelerated through a car park, struck a woman standing on the riverbank and ploughed into the river.
The woman was rescued by passers-by who called emergency services.
She was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital suffering a suspected broken ankle, bruises, abrasions and shock.
Officers remain at the scene and are are being assisted at the scene by Water Police and the Dive Unit.
The vehicle is yet to be located and the driver remains unaccounted for.
