Fans rip Angel Reese for her outfit on Unrivaled’s opening night in Miami

Angel Reese made her hotly anticipated return to the basketball court on Friday night, but fans tuning in to see the launch of Unrivaled were unimpressed by her outfit on opening night.

The 3×3 league tipped off in Miami with Reese playing in the later game with her new team, Rose Basketball Club.

The venue, Wayfair Arena in Miami, had a walkway for players to show off their gameday outfits and Reese made her arrival in style on opening night.

‘I’m wearing Pucci, I’m wearing Chanel, I’m wearing diamonds,’ she can be heard saying after someone asked what she was wearing.

But fans on social media weren’t too impressed, with some accusing her of trying too hard to fill the void left by Caitlin Clark after she opted not to compete in the event.

‘Main character syndrome running wild,’ one fan said in response to the footage.

Reese’s appearance Friday marked her return to basketball since having wrist surgery

Another wrote: ‘She thinks she’s the main character but is an NPC (nonplayer character) in the grand scheme.’

A different fan mocked Reese’s outfit after she said in October that she didn’t earn enough money to pay her $8,000-a-month rent in Chicago.

‘Didn’t she complain about not being able to make rent? She’s probably sponsored here but whatever,’ another fan said.

Some fans appreciated Reese’s look, with one writing: ‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend!’

Another positive response read: ‘It’s giving 50s glamour, I like it.’

Friday night’s appearance marks the first time Reese has been on the court since her rookie WNBA season with Chicago Sky ended early due to her wrist injury.

She needed surgery and during her absence, Sky failed to make the playoffs.
