Fans predict Mary Fowler and Nathan Cleary will make two HUGE decisions after the Matildas star debuted a stunning new look
Matildas superstar Mary Fowler has revealed a stunning new look on social media that has both footy and NRL fans leaping to conclusions.
Fowler and Penrith Panthers captain Nathan Cleary are the highest profile sporting couple in Australia and have earned a legion of supporters, even outside of their respective sports.
The couple first sparked dating rumours in 2023 when they were spotted walking together by the Nepean River in Penrith, Sydney’s western area, last year.
They were later seen enjoying ice cream after an Adidas event, a brand they are both sponsored by.
Since those initial sightings in Perth, the two have frequently posted affectionate photos on social media and have been spotted supporting each other at their respective matches.
Fowler often meets up with Cleary whenever she returns to Australia, either to relax from her commitments with Manchester City or to fulfill her duties with the Matildas.
This is the photo that Fowler posted that set alight a blaze of speculation that she is set to wed her NRL star boyfriend Nathan Cleary
Cleary and Fowler have been dating since late 2023, unable to hide the worst-kept secret in Australian sport
Fans now believe they have been together long enough and are calling for wedding bells and even children
Recently, Fowler posted a stunning new look to her Instagram account featuring braided hair that had her fans in raptures.
However pt also had many of them jumping to two pretty huge conclusions about the couple.
‘Miss pretty! Soon to be Mrs Cleary,’ one follower posted.
Another quickly agreed, replying: ‘The Queen of Penrith’.
‘Or she might choose to keep her name, right?! Maintain her own identity and all,’ another replied.
A Penrith supporter could also see marriage on the horizon for the power couple, but asked Mary to wait until the NRL finals series was finished.
‘Take care of our prince Mary. Two games left,’ they posted with a series of diamond ring emojis.
Others were not so keen on the idea.
‘Geez why does everyone want to marry her off, stay Mary Fowler,’ posted a Matildas supporter.
‘Inspiring a new gen of Aussie soccer players,’ added another.
‘Don’t take Cleary to England please,’ pleaded another.
Both football and NRL supporters believe the power couple would bring more sporting superstars into the world
Fowler is currently focused on her football career with both the Matildas and Manchester City
If first comes love, then comes marriage, it makes sense that next we would see Mary and Nathan with a baby carriage.
And their fans are already losing their minds over what kind of children the two athletes could bring into the world.
‘Hey everyone imagine if these two had a kid, I reckon the kid would probably be pretty good at sport,’ one fan posted.
‘Those kids would be intercepting and scoring goals in the womb from day one,’ an other excited follower posted.
‘Forget about Becks and Posh [David and Victoria Beckham], and forget Denmark, this is our Queen Mary and the Prince of Penrith,’ added another.
‘Ya can’t make this s*** up. Home someone’s detailing this for a Netflix script, take on the world kids.’
Cleary recently has to deny rumours that he was set to move to the UK for 12 months to be closer to Fowler
Fans might want to keep a lid on their expectations, though. For a start, it appears that Fowler has removed any comments about having children from the thread.
Cleary’s manager has also knocked suggestions on the head that his star client could be set for a one-year stint in the UK Super League to be closer to his beau.
It comes following Cleary’s candid account of the start of his romance with Fowler – where he finally addressed stunning speculation about how their relationship became public.
Widely regarded as the best player in the NRL, the 26-year-old has also opened up for the first time about the moment he got into a ‘car chase’ shortly after Daily Mail Australia’s exclusive photos made their relationship public for the first time.
Our pictures showed the couple sharing a tender moment in a Perth park last November after Cleary made the journey from Sydney to see Fowler play for the Matildas – and from that moment on, everything changed for them both.
‘Whenever I was with her it just felt like we were two normal people … and then all of a sudden people were taking photos of us, and then they were being published, and then there were articles, then there was people waiting out the front of my house,’ Cleary told the podcast.
