Ex-NRL star Liam Knight ‘proud’ after debut with Hull FC – but he might be in the sin-bin with his glamorous TV presenter girlfriend Danika Mason
Former NRL star Liam Knight has made a successful switch to the English Super League following his debut with Hull FC – but he might be in trouble behind closed doors after failing to mention his girlfriend Danika Mason in a social media post.
‘Crazy couple of weeks. Relocated to England. Played in my first game in new colours last night,’ the journeyman prop posted on his Instagram on Saturday.
‘Proud to play for this great club. New home with Hull FC.’
It followed a gripping 22-22 draw with the Leigh Leopards, with even golden point unable to separate the two sides.
Earlier this week, Hull FC coach John Cartwright declared Knight would offer some grunt in his forward pack.
‘Liam hasn’t done a pre-season but he’s been training on his own,’ he said.

The couple, who are committed to staying together, will spend seven months apart with Knight in the UK (pictured, at the Bulldogs’ end of season presentation night)
‘I know Liam, and he’s a very fit lad anyway. I know he’ll be keen to play, but we’ve just got to monitor how much he’s done.’
Knight has inked a deal with the black and whites for the rest of the season.
Footy aside, Knight could have some explaining to do.
Given Knight and Mason are reportedly committed to a long distance relationship over the next seven months, a public ‘shout out’ no doubt would have delighted the glamorous Channel Nine presenter.
It comes as Mason 33, was recently promoted to the vacant sports presenter role on the free to air network’s Today show, replacing Alex Cullen, who was infamously axed for accepting $50,000 from The Block billionaire Adrian Portelli.
Following confirmation of Mason’s new role, fans were divided online.
‘I want Alex back Channel Nine, you lost a good sports reporter,’ one wrote.
‘Although I wish Danika well and hope she forges her own identity, Alex is really not replaceable as far as personality goes,’ another chimed in.

‘It’s just not the same without Alex,’ a third person confessed.
Another said: ‘Well I’m gonna miss Alex. But great to have Danika on the show.’
Knight and Mason officially debuted their romance last July, just months after she ditched her fiancée Todd Liubinskas weeks before they were set to be married in 2023.
Front-rower Knight made his NRL debut with the Sea Eagles in 2016, before stints with the Raiders, Rabbitohs and Bulldogs.
