Hello, you.
If you’ve been keeping up with Netflix‘s thriller series You, I bet you’re still wondering how absolute psychopath Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) is still alive and kicking. Well, we’ll be able to find out how his dramatic, death-filled story ends with the fifth and final season
Based on the books by Caroline Kepnes, You follows a guy called Joe who up until season four, truly believed that he was a kind, selfless and endlessly romantic person…. despite his fondness for stalking and killing women who captured his attention. Ouchie mama.
Without further ado, here is everything we know about the very last instalment of the bloody thriller.

What do we know about the plot of You season 5?
This season, Joe is back in New York where the story truly began. As far as he’s concerned, he’s finally home to enjoy his life and ready to put his sordid past behind him. However, life isn’t that simple and it’s not long before Joe’s dark desires are back, along with the ghosts of his past.
“Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant,” Penn Badgley told Tudum.
“And this season, I think somehow coming back to where it started allowed for it to just become grounded in the way that it needs to also have this kind of spectacular finish.”
According to Netflix, this season Joe will connect with a young, free-spirited playwright named Bronte (Madeline Brewer) who “makes him reconsider his affluent life”. They both connect over literature and losing loved ones. Ironic, no?
Joe also has to contend with his new family, especially his siblings-in-law. There’s Teddy (Griffin Matthews), who becomes a confidant to Joe, and very different twins Raegan and Maddie Lockwood (both played by Anna Camp).
In the last season, we saw Joe embrace the darkness that lies within. Will he continue on his blood-thirsty antics without reproach, or will he finally face the consequence of his own actions?
“There are many loose ends in Joe’s past,” Badgley said.
“I think it sets us up to actually have a really great finale season. Can his inner monologue evolve some now? What does it mean for him to accept himself?”
Only time will tell, my friends!!!
Is there a You season 5 trailer?
Sadly, we don’t have a full trailer just yet. However, we do have a date announcement teaser in which we can hear Penn Badgely‘s dulcet tones say “hello, you” again. I know the character is meant to be a killer with sociopathic and psychopathic tendencies but it’s kind of sexy, no?
Ugh, I’ll bring this up in therapy. Anyway, here’s the teaser.
When does You season 5 come out?
On January 17, Netflix revealed that the fifth and final season of You will be hitting screens on April 24.
The streaming giant will be dropping all 10 episodes of the long-awaited season at once, and that’s a win for us all, if you ask me.
Who is in You season 5?
In season five we see some returning characters including Joe (played by number two on my hall pass list, Penn Badgley) and his season four wifey Kate (Charlotte Ritchie).
Joining this dynamic duo is Madeline Brewer playing Bronte, a playwright who lands a job at Joe’s new bookstore, Griffin Matthews as Joe’s sassy brother-in-law Teddy, and Anna Camp playing Joe’s twin sisters-in-law.
Anna is playing both Raegan and Maddie Lockwood. Raegan is a no-nonsense CFO who won’t stop at anything to find herself in a powerful position. Conversely, there’s Maddie, a master manipulator and socialite. You just know Joe will have his hands full with these two.
You can also expect to see performances by Natasha Behnam, Pete Ploszek, Tom Francis, Nava Mau and an actor who goes by b.
Well, that’s all we know for now!
You can catch up on seasons one to four of You on Netflix now. Season five will be available to stream on April 24.
