Everything We Know About Season 3 Of ‘Euphoria’ So Far

Production has begun at last on the third and likely final season of Max’s Euphoria. Much has changed in regards to who will return in front of the camera in the three years since the second season premiered.

When will Euphoria Season 3 come out?

At the Wells Fargo TMT Summit, JB Perrette, CEO and President of Global Streaming for HBO/Max parent Warner Bros. Discovery, confirmed that the series starring Zendaya is targeting a 2026 return. An exact date has not yet been announced.

Has Euphoria Season 3 gone into production?

Yes, the third season has started production as of Feb. 10, 2025. Season 3 is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

Who is coming back for Euphoria Season 3?

Zendaya will return to reprise her role of Rue Bennett, as will Hunter Schafer in her role as Jules Vaughn.

Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi (Guillermo Del Toro’s upcoming Frankenstein), Sydney Sweeney (Anyone but You), Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow will return as series regulars. Colman Domingo will return as a guest star.

Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry have been upped to series regulars. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Suicide Squad) and Toby Wallace (Babyteeth) have joined the show as series regulars.

Variety exclusively broke the news of Dominic Fike’s return for Season 3.

Who is not coming back for Euphoria Season 3?

Barbie Ferreirra revealed her exit from the show via Instagram after she played Katherine “Kat” Hernandez in the first two seasons. Later the actress revealed her reasoning for leaving as one of creative differences.

Angus Cloud’s death at the age of 25 rocked the cast and crew of the show in the summer of 2023. He played Fezco in the show’s first two seasons. Javon “Wanna” Walton’s character Ashtray — Fezco’s partner in crime — died in the Season 2 finale.

Storm Reid, who portrayed Rue’s younger sister Gia Bennett, also won’t return for Season 3. Sources told Deadline Algee Smith and Nika King will not be returning for Season 3.

Austin Abrams who played Kat’s boyfriend “Ethan Daley” in the series, will no longer appear.

Will there be new characters and cast for Euphoria Season 3?

Yes, Deadline recently exclusively revealed newcomers to the Season 3 cast, including musician Rosalía, Super Bowl football champion Marshawn Lynch and Kadeem Hardison.

The newcomers to Season 3’s cast will also include Darrell Britt-Gibson (She Taught Love), Priscilla Delgado (Julieta); James Landry Hébert (1883) and Anna van Patten (Gossip Girl) who have notable guest star roles.

Sharon Stone is also set to make an appearance in Season 3.

Who else is behind Euphoria Season 3?

Creator Sam Levinson returns to helm the third season of the drama series. He wrote, directed, and executive produced Euphoria in partnership with A24. Levinson also executive produces along with Kevin Turen, Ravi Nandan, Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, Emmy-winner for her perofmance Zendaya, Will Greenfield, Ashley Levinson, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, and Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein.  Based on the Israeli series of the same name, Euphoria was created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin, from HOT.

Returning crew members include Julio C. Perez, IV as supervising editor and Co-Producer, Marcell Rév as director of photography who will be shooting all episodes, Doniella Davy as makeup department head, Ryan Heffington as choreographer and Kim Kimble as hair department head. Newcomers are Colleen Atwood, who joins as a Co-Producer; Natasha Newman-Thomas joins as costume designer and Francois Audouy joins as production designer.

What will Euphoria Season 3 be about? Will it be set in high school?

Season 3 will, in fact, include a time jump that brings the characters out of high school.

How many episodes will be in Euphoria Season 3?

In July 2024, Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content Casey Bloys revealed that Season 3 would be full-size consisting of eight episodes.

Will Season 3 be the last season of Euphoria?

Season 3 is likely the end, as HBO Head of Drama Francesca Orsi told Deadline.

“We’ve talked about it, I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end,” she said. “I think you will be very satisfied with this season, and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative.”
