Endowments participate in the round table to address rumors

Dr. Ayman Abu Omar, Head of the Central Administration for Da’wah Affairs, participated as a representative of the Ministry of Endowments in the activities of the third round table of the National Program to Confront Rumors “Confront Us” under the patronage of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports.

Dr. Ayman Abu Omar presented the vision of the Ministry of Endowments and its efforts to confront rumours, stressing that rumors are not just passing words or false news, but rather It is a poisonous arrow that strikes hearts and minds and destroys the social fabric. Its danger lies in the fact that it is easily cultivated, but its effect lasts a long time, and may destroy what was built over the years.

 

His Eminence pointed out that rumors can be a tool for wars, for example: what happened During the Battle of Uhud, the polytheists spread a rumor that the Prophet – may God bless him and grant him peace – had been killed. This rumor had a great impact on the souls of the Muslims, as it made them weak and confused, and almost led to the collapse of their ranks, but when They were assured of the presence of the Prophet – may God bless him and grant him peace – among them. They regained their strength and steadfastness, and this incident shows the danger of the rumor, especially in times of crisis.

 

His Eminence warned of the danger of circulating news through social media without verification. of its authenticity, stressing that this is considered false speech that harms the individual and society, and undermines the stability of the nation, citing the words of God Almighty: “O you who have believed! A sinner has come to you with news, so investigate.”

 

Dr. Ayman Abu Omar explained that rumors are a malicious way to destroy societies, as their enemies seek to sow discord among their members and weaken their cohesion, and so it was an example. In His saying, Glory be to Him: “And the likeness of a word Evil, like a wicked tree uprooted from the surface of the earth, which has no stability."
