Elon Musk gives voters an easy way to score $20 cash in Wisconsin Supreme Court race… but there’s a catch

Outrage ensued on Monday as Elon Musk launched his latest attempt to get a conservative Wisconsin judge elected to the state’s Supreme Court.
The billionaire leader of DOGE kicked-off a new social media campaign on Monday with the apparent aim to boost Republicans’ preferred candidate to replace a retiring liberal judge.
He is offering $20 to every person who takes an image with another person while holding a picture of Judge Brad Schimel, the Republican candidate, while flashing a ‘thumbs up.’ Both people in the image will get $20, Musk explained in his X post on Monday.
‘Easiest money you ever made!’ he vowed.
‘The goal is to build awareness about the election tomorrow, so this offer applies to today and tomorrow,’ Musk added in reference to Wisconsin’s election on Tuesday, April 1.
It comes after the Tesla and SpaceX boss visited Wisconsin on Sunday for an event where he rallied support for Schimel and presented a $1 million to two different people. Those sweepstakes required Wisconsinite entrants to sign the ‘Petition in Opposition to Activist Judges.’
Elon Musk visited Green Bay, Wisconsin on Sunday as he spends millions to urge voters in the state to cast their ballot for Judge Brad Schimel in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race on Tuesday

Circuit Court Judge Brad Schimel is the MAGA favorite to replace a retiring liberal judge for a 10-year term on Wisconsin’s Supreme Court. Whichever party wins will almost assuredly get a more favorable congressional map for the 2026 midterms
The petition advocates for judges to ‘interpret laws as written, not rewrite them to fit their personal or political agendas.’
Wisconsin’s Democratic attorney general asked a court on Friday to block Musk from handing out the checks to voters.
The election in Wisconsin on Tuesday, April 1 will see voters cast their ballots for the next justices to sit on the state’s Supreme Court for a 10-year term.
Whichever party wins the supreme court race will almost assuredly get a more favorable congressional map for the 2026 midterms in Wisconsin, making it desirable for Musk to pump money into the race to help Republicans keep a majority in Congress and keep the state red.
Democratic fury ensued over the barrage of money going towards the race and Musk’s push to have the outgoing liberal replaced with a conservative MAGA judge.
‘Don’t let Elon Musk buy this election. Vote Susan Crawford on April 1,’ Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) wrote in an X post advocating for the liberal option for Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Before doling out the $20 per post, Musk already spent over $20 million to support Brad Schimel.

Musk handed over two $1 million checks to Wisconsin voters on Sunday, March 30, 2025, who signed the ‘Petition in Opposition to Activist Judges’

And now, Musk is offering $20 per image to every person who get a Wisconsin resident to take a picture holding an image of Judge Schimel and a thumbs-up with their other hand
‘Elon Musk might be trying to buy a Supreme Court seat for $20 million, but Wisconsin is not for sale,’ Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) said. ‘The people of Wisconsin own their football team—they don’t want a billionaire owning their Court.’
One user, noting the importance of the Wisconsin race, urged people across the country to take it seriously.
‘If you think Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race doesn’t affect you just because you don’t live there—think again,’ they wrote on X. ‘If Musk pulls this off, it’s one step closer to him buying an election near you.’
‘Got friends, family, or even followers in Wisconsin? Tell them to get out and vote the right way.’
Musk also pumped millions into the 2024 presidential election in battleground states where he gave million-dollar-checks to swing voters who signed a petition supporting the MAGA agenda.
He also sent out $100 checks to those who registered to vote in vital swing states in the weeks leading up to Election Day.

Sen. Bernie Sanders urged Americans to not ‘let Elon Musk buy this election’ as Democrats warn that the billionaire will start buying every election
The $20 offer from Musk is for anyone – whether from Wisconsin or not – to go door-to-door taking images with people while holding up an image of Judge Schimel.’
The guidelines are detailed on the America PAC website, noting: ‘You will earn $20 for each Wisconsin resident you recruit and they will receive $20 too!’
It says entrants must visit houses in their neighborhood and send in pictures on Monday Tuesday with the resident holding a picture – digital or printed – of Judge Schimel. Their other hand must be holding a thumbs-up sign.
If a single person takes images with 100 people, they will become a ‘Block General’ and earn an additional $200 on top of $20 for each picture.
And if one of the residents they take an image with then sends in their own image with a voting location in the background on Tuesday, they will get another $20 and so will the recruiter.
