"Egyptian e-learning" It reviews the country’s efforts to develop students’ skills to keep pace with global changes

Under the patronage and in the presence of Dr. Hisham Abdel Salam, President of the University, the Egyptian National E-Learning University organized a symposium entitled “Student Life and Sustainable Development for a Better World,” where Dr. Mustafa Bayoumi (Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Research) presented Scientific Student Life and Sustainable Development and Vice President of the Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities)   Lecture on the goals of sustainable development in the higher education sector and the importance of the state’s interest in developing the skills of its children in order to keep pace with global changes, pointing to the necessity of working to build a better future for Egypt based on sustainability and prosperity, stressing that The current generations are called upon to achieve achievements that go beyond what previous generations achieved, and that this ambition is what educational institutions seek to support by enhancing the quality of education and sustainable development, explaining that sustainable development is the basis for building a better world, and that it starts from the individual and the surrounding community to include the entire nation. Reviewing the most important lessons learned from the Covid-19 crisis, he pointed out that this crisis revealed the deficiencies in countries’ preparedness for disasters around the world, which confirms the necessity of advance preparation to reduce the impact of potential crises in the future, whether at the level of individuals or countries.

He pointed out that scientific knowledge is the real power in the current era, as developed countries gain their strength from the production of knowledge and scientific research, adding that Africa and the Arab countries still suffer from a major deficiency in this aspect, as they represent… A small part of the global scientific scene, which makes enhancing the production of knowledge and transforming it into innovations a basic requirement for increasing the relative power of the Egyptian state.

 

 Dr. Mostafa Bayoumi also stressed the role of sport as a pillar. Essential in building and developing the Egyptian human being, praising the university’s efforts in organizing many sporting events and activities within the “100 Days of Sports” initiative. And the “Martyr Al-Rifai” courses, which aim to prepare generations of university youth capable of effectively contributing to comprehensive development processes and building the future of the nation. He also praised the broad participation of girls from various Egyptian universities from all regions, which reflects the ability of student activities to bring about change. Positive cultural and societal, stressing the keenness of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to provide all aspects of support to the university in various student activities, stressing the university’s efforts to enhance the role of sports within the higher education system.

 

At the end, a panel discussion took place with university students to answer all their inquiries about how to develop diverse skills among young people to keep pace with future challenges. The symposium was attended by Professor Dr. Raafat Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Commercial Studies and Business Administration, Professor Dr. Hisham Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information Technology, and a group of university faculty members, at the headquarters of the university’s academic branch at Ain Shams University. He explained that the student must develop himself continuously because learning does not stop at A certain limit.
