Minister Gibran met with his Qatari counterpart, to discuss activating cooperation in common fields between the “two brotherly countries.” The meeting was on the sidelines of the activities of the 101st session of the Board of Directors of the Arab Labor Organization, one of the specialized organizations in the League of Arab States, held in Cairo, in the presence of representatives of Arab business parties, including governments, business owners, and workers. At the beginning of the meeting, the Qatari Minister of Labor congratulated the Egyptian Minister of Labor, Mohamed Gibran, on the confidence of the three Arab labor parties in him, and his election as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Labor Organization, which was established in 1965, to be an important foundation on the labor front. The Joint Arab Conference is a unique platform for social dialogue, and a national arena for constructive and fruitful cooperation between the three production parties in our Arab homeland.
The Qatari Minister stressed the depth of the Egyptian-Qatari historical relations, especially in the field of work, and praised the Minister’s efforts. Egyptian labor and its vision towards developing the vocational training system, to meet the needs of the labor market at home and abroad. He said that the Qatari state welcomes Egyptian labor in its markets, as they are distinguished and skilled workers, and have a major role in the development of Qatari society. He explained that “Qatar Vision 2030” Which has begun its third phase, it depends on developing some sectors that definitely need new workers during the coming period. The Qatari Minister said that he is keen to intensify cooperation with his Egyptian counterpart during the coming period, in conjunction with the meetings of the Egyptian-Qatari Technical Committee, during the last quarter of this year “2024”.
Minister Gibran confirmed in his conversation with his Qatari counterpart To the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, regarding supporting every joint Arab action that leads to development and providing job opportunities, he pledged to make all efforts to strengthen joint Arab action during his term as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Labor Organization. Minister Gibran reviewed the efforts of the Ministry of Labor in the fields of “training for employment” and developing the vocational training system to be in line with the needs of the labor market at home and abroad. He said that the Ministry of Labor is ready to provide the trained workers that the Qatari labor market needs under its supervision, and is fully prepared to coordinate in this matter. The matter, and touched on what the Ministry is doing “professional examination” and educating workers before they travel to ensure their skills before the employer, their sustainability, and the preservation of their rights. He cited the professional examination agreement with the Saudi side, stressing the dissemination of this successful agreement with other countries, with the aim of verifying that the Egyptian worker possesses the qualifications and skills required for work, and injecting new skilled labor into foreign markets.
