Eagle-eyed football fans notice Travis Hunter stuff bizarre item down his pants

Travis Hunter made a viral moment of an opposing team’s odd tradition when the Colorado Buffaloes visited the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday.

Patrick Mahomes’ alma mater commenced their tradition of throwing tortillas on the field at Jones AT&T Stadium when one landed yards in front of the wide receiver.

Hunter then proceeded to pick it up and stuffed it in his pants. While most would think it was for safety measures, fans on social media had fun with the viral moment.

‘The only player in the history of college football to play offense and defense with a tortilla in his pants,’ one fan wrote. ‘History is made everyday!’

‘I would retire from the game if I got locked up by a dude that just grabbed a tortilla and put it in his pants,’ another added.

‘How much can I buy it for,’ a fourth added.

A fifth chimed in, writing, ‘Ive seen enough. this was his heisman moment.’

Hunter would finish the game with nine receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown as the Buffaloes downed their hosts, 41-27.

The junior is in the midst of a hot start to his season with 60 receptions for 757 yards and eight touchdowns for the Buffaloes.

Deion Sanders’ side has now won three straight games and improved to a 7-2 record. Colorado will host Utah on Nov. 16.

While the start of the tortilla tradition remains unclear, Texas Tech fans have thrown the thin flatbread on the field since the late 1980s.

One theory suggests that the practice began when an ESPN announcer joked about Lubbock Texas having ‘nothing but Texas Tech football and a tortilla factory.’
