Drive-by shooting at Guildford West as house is sprayed with bullets

A second western Sydney home has been sprayed with bullets a day after a woman was killed in a drive-by shooting.

A house on Faulds Road, in Guilford West, was shot at shortly before 2.15am on Wednesday, but no one was inside the home at the time.

It comes a day after a 65-year-old woman died in Ambarvale, south of Campbelltown, after being struck by shrapnel when gunmen opened fire on her home in what police described as a ‘targeted attack’.

NSW Police established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the latest shooting.

Not long after the shooting, firefighters were called to Birmingham Avenue in Villawood, about 10 minutes away, to find a car on fire.

Fire and Rescue crews put out the blaze, but the car was destroyed.

Police are investigating if the car fire is linked to the Guildford West shooting.

The shooting comes a day after grandmother Kim Duncan was killed when gunmen fired shots into a home on Dickens Road in Ambarvale at 11pm on Monday.

Police are investigating the second shooting in as many days in Sydney’s west

Her 34-year-old son tried to save her after she was struck by bullet fragments.

Police believe she was not the intended target, but think it was a ‘warning’ shot to someone else.

Campbelltown Police Superintendent Grant Healey said three men left a dark-coloured sedan before firing shots.

‘It’s a tragedy that a grandmother has been shot by cowards out the front of their house,’ he said.

No arrests have been made for ether shooting and police are urging anyone with information or CCTV footage from either area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
