Drinking water stations signed by Hayat Karima in Aswan… achieve positive returns to serve the people

Continuous efforts are being made to implement President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s “Decent Life” initiative, to improve the standard of living of the most needy families. The drinking water sector in Aswan is witnessing a major boom, and these projects are intended to achieve many positive returns to improve drinking water for the people.

Work is underway to complete the construction of the new Fatira station in Kom Ombo, implemented within the framework of the presidential initiative, with a design capacity of 34 thousand cubic meters per day. It has also been approved to replace and renew some drinking water networks in the village of Abu Al-Rish, in the Aswan Center, which will be implemented by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency. And an ultra-small one with a length of 1.3 kilometers and a diameter of 4 inches, as part of the operation and maintenance projects implemented by the agency for the year 2024/2025.

It comes as a continuation of the ongoing projects in the villages of Abu Al-Rish in various work sectors, including the drinking water and sanitation sector, where the Abu Al-Rish tank with a capacity of 4,000 m2 has been operated, and the ongoing work on the project to establish the main drinking water purification station in the city of Al-Radisiyah, which is included within the initiative’s projects, and its cost is The estimated cost is about 103.5 million pounds, and it will be built on an area of ​​11 thousand m2, with a capacity of 10 thousand m3/day, and it is scheduled to reach 20 thousand m3 / day in the future.

While the new Al-Radisiyah water station was designed with a design capacity of 10,000/20,000 cubic meters per day in two stages, the station feeds a group of villages of Al-Buhaira, Al-Adwa, and Al-Rataj, and the city of Al-Radisiyah and its satellites, serving about 50,000 people in those areas. Also, the Edfu station is under construction, discharging 30,000 cubic meters per day, serving the city of Edfu. There is a new Ezbet Al-Masry water station with a capacity of 100 cubic meters per hour, as well as Al-Kharaza station with a capacity of 100 cubic meters per hour. 120 cubic meters per hour, and the Daqadiq water station in Edfu center has a capacity of 100 cubic meters per hour.

Aswan Governorate is also witnessing a package of ongoing projects in the drinking water sector, as the villages and cities of Aswan Governorate are witnessing extensive replacement and renewal works for drinking water networks, developing drinking water stations and taps, increasing their capabilities and capacity, and establishing new stations and tanks.

Ongoing work also continues on the old West Suhail water station project, with a capacity of 52 litres/second and 19 meters per hour. The old West Suhail water station includes 4 suction motors and 4 expulsion motors, including 2 motors with a capacity of 75 hp, and 2 others with a capacity of 50 hp, while up to The capacity of the ground tank is 220 meters.
In parallel, the new West Suhail drinking water station project is being implemented in the Aswan Center, where its capacity reaches 30 litres/second, includes 6 motors with a capacity of 40 horsepower, and the tank capacity reaches 110 meters, and it is being prepared to feed the urban expansion in the village of West Suhail.
