Dr. Al Mahrasawi stressed that Islam is a religion of peace, mercy, and love, and has established disciplined rules for peaceful coexistence with others, through several matters, the most important of which are: freedom of belief, and that the Muslim is required to respect the beliefs of others, and not the meaning of Respect here is believing in what others believe, but respecting the freedom of others to choose what they believe, as well as rejecting discrimination between people, whether by gender, color, or religion. Rather, discrimination is based on fear of God. These rules are a call for peaceful coexistence, positive integration, and acceptance of others, and this is the core of citizenship.
He pointed out that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is the great scientific edifice, which relies in its approach on moderation and moderation, which in turn deepens human brotherhood among all human beings, regardless of their religion or race, explaining that Al-Azhar relies in its approach on intellectual pluralism. , which gives space for opinion and other opinions, and thus the Al-Azhari student acquires the quality of tolerance and moderation.
