Donald Trump lines up another huge sporting appearance at Daytona 500 after Super Bowl visit

Donald Trump is set to follow his historic Super Bowl appearance on Sunday by attending the Daytona 500 the following weekend.

The President announced earlier this week that he will be heading to New Orleans as the Kansas City Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles, where a win makes them the first team in Super Bowl history to win the title for three straight season.

Trump will be the first sitting President to ever attend a Super Bowl.

But seven days later, he will be in Florida for the Daytona 500 on Feb. 16, according to Ed O’Keefe, the White House correspondent for CBS.

Trump has history at the event. He appeared there in 2020, during his first term as President, serving as the Grand Marshal for the race alongside his wife Melania.

That day, the presidential limousine even did a lap of the track before the race and according to O’Keefe, it isn’t impossible that it happens again.

‘We’re told we may “see the Beast do a few laps on the track.” Trump was previously there in 2020,’ he wrote on X.

But for now, Trump’s focus – in terms of sport – is on the Super Bowl, where he’ll find himself in the rare position of being on the same side as Taylor Swift.

Trump said he hated Taylor Swift back in September after she endorsed Kamala Harris before the election. But it doesn’t appear that animosity from Trump extends to Travis Kelce, judging by what he wrote on Truth Social on Friday.

‘Two great Quarterbacks in this game. Also, an unbelievable running back, and the absolute best tight end in football (Ever!),’ Trump wrote, seemingly referring to Kelce.

He continued: ‘Incredible coaching! If they would only get rid of that really weird looking new Kickoff “deal,” which actually makes football more dangerous, they would be doing everybody, especially the fans, a big favor.

‘ANYWAY, IT WILL BE A GREAT GAME!!! I’ll be doing the interview, before the game, at 3:00 P.M. There hasn’t been one in four years (Gee, I wonder why?).’

Trump’s interview will be shown on Fox, the broadcaster of Sunday’s game.
