Doctors share the activities they would NEVER do – including eating potato salad

A non-profit organization is going viral after doctors revealed the things they would never do now that they’ve been trained in the medical field on TikTok.

Medical experts associated with the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland & Northern Ohio (AMCNO) gave their top advice in a video published on Wednesday.

In the clip, a medical student and a gastroenterologist both admitted they would no longer eat potato salad.

On top of that, more than one medical expert admitted they would never ride a bicycle, snowboard or skateboard anywhere without a helmet.

‘I used to own an electric skateboard that I’d ride around campus, and I would not ride a helmet when I road it,’ one of the medical students explained.

‘So I would now always wear a helmet,’ he added.

Another medical student revealed she would never ride a motorcycle in general.

One of the interviewees revealed she would never stay up late studying or smoke, while multiple experts expressed caution about choosing a better diet.

Another gastroenterologist in the video admitted he would never eat artificially sweetened foods, while a medical student insisted she would not ‘neglect the amount of fiber’ she has in her diet.

Other never-do actions mentioned in the video involved eating expired foods, getting warm lake water up one’s nose and allowing children to play football.

The video has received more than 150,000 views, and it’s currently the non-profit’s second most-watched video on TikTok.

Potato salad is a common dish one would see at the dinner table, but it can also cause someone to suffer serious health problems.

The salad dish can be made up of high amounts of fat, calories and sodium and poses a risk of cholesterol hikes or heart disease.

Anyone who eats potato salad frequently or in large portions would also be at risk of gaining weight.

Wearing helmets while bicycling or skateboarding can also save someone’s life if they’re in a traffic accident.

‘Each year about 2% of motor vehicle crash deaths are bicyclists,’ wrote the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

‘In a majority of bicyclist deaths, the most serious injuries are to the head, highlighting the importance of wearing a bicycle helmet.’

Artificial sweeteners may be tasty, but it can also give someone a higher risk of getting cancer, cardiovascular disease or type 2 diabetes.

Conversely, a diet high in fiber could help someone make sure they stay in good health, as it can help with digestive health and cholesterol reduction.

As for the medical expert’s aversion of warm lake water, it may be fun to swim in, but it can be dangerous if contaminated with parasites and bacteria and in some cases, potentially fatal.

Several commenters who watched the AMCNO video were surprised about the potato salad comments.

However, they suggested that smaller portions and keeping it cold could solve the potential potato salad’s risks.

At least two other TikTokers said they could never give up on artificial sweeteners, and one of them insisted they couldn’t be pried from her ‘cold dead fingers.’

Others brought up the warm lake water scenario and how it’s a ‘yearly occurrence’ during the summer.

‘That warm lake water thing shook me to my core. I never thought about how toxic that water source is,’ a TikToker wrote.
