Details of the Egyptian ceasefire initiative in Gaza

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, said that Egypt had submitted an initiative for a truce in the Gaza Strip for a two-day ceasefire, including the entry of aid and the exchange of a number of hostages and prisoners, followed by a ten-day truce, in preparation for completing the procedures for a final ceasefire.

 

This came during the joint press conference with his counterpart, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Algerian Republic, following a bilateral discussion session at the Ittihadiya Palace.

 

The two presidents confirmed Complete agreement in the visions between the two countries regarding the Palestinian issue and regional files. With regard to the Palestinian issue, they stressed the necessity of a ceasefire, rejecting attempts at forced displacement, crimes of genocide and artificial starvation, and that the final solution will only be by granting the Palestinian people the right to an independent state on the June 4 borders. 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

 

In Sudan, the two presidents stressed the necessity of a ceasefire and ending the suffering of the Sudanese people, rejecting foreign interventions that fuel the conflict, and that the two countries will not intervene to bring about reconciliation between the parties.

 

Regarding the Libyan file, which represents the neighborhood of Egypt and Algeria, the two presidents stressed that the solution will only be Libyan-Libyan, by preparing the atmosphere for elections that will result in a legitimate government with the will of the Libyan people.
