Deborra-Lee Furness has seemingly hinted at what led to her split with Hugh Jackman — and all signs point to an alleged affair with Younger actress Sutton Foster.
In late October, Furness liked a video by digital creator Tasha Lustig in which she claimed that Jackman had blindsided Furness with the split after he allegedly hooked up with Foster on the set of The Music Man revival, the Broadway show that Foster and Jackman starred in together from 2021 to January 2023.
“Do y’all remember when I told you this man was up to no good,” Lustig said, pointing to a lovey-dovey picture of Jackman with his co-star.
She finished the video by saying that Furness “will have a glow up” and be “just fine.”
Tasha’s video went on to gain more than 1.4 million views on Instagram, 2.2 million views on TikTok and upwards of 78.5 thousand likes — including one from the private account of Furness.
In the comments, British television personality and friend of Furness Amanda de Cadenet, wrote: “You are on point with this one. My beloved friend Deb is about to have her glow up any moment fyi!”
Many have taken Furness’ subtle social media like as a possible hint that the rumours about her ex-husband and his co-star are true.
Claims from industry insiders seem to back that theory up too.
“Deborra-lee was blindsided when she found out about the affair through the run of the show,” said a source, per Us Weekly.
“It was apparently Broadway’s worst-kept secret, and Deborra-lee was the last to know.”
The source also claimed that Jackman never owned up to the affair and although Furness wanted to save their marriage, Jackman continued his relationship with Foster.
Other insiders claim the affair was a fairly open secret within Broadway circles.
“Sutton and Hugh’s relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb got divorced,” a source close to Sutton told the outlet.
“A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because both of them are so nice and great people. Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap. They are really happy now.”
Jackman and Furness first announced their spit in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage. They have two children together, Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19.
“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” Jackman and Furness said in a joint statement to PEOPLE at the time.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.”
In October this year, Sutton filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years Ted Griffin. They share a seven-year-old daughter named Emily.
