Dave Portnoy slams ‘scumbag’ Eagles fans for harassing Commanders supporters after NFC title game

Dave Portnoy did not mince his words when reacting to a viral video of Philadelphia fans harassing their Washington counterparts after the Eagles bested the Commanders in the NFC title game this past weekend.

While the banter between opposing fans is common in sports, Eagles fans took it a step farther outside Lincoln Financial Field as two Commanders fans walked back to their vehicle.

Fans in green and white surrounded the pair and began yelling and recording them to rub the 55-23 win in. An Eagles fan put his green hat on one of the Washington supporters before taking it off.

Shortly after, another Philadelphia diehard ripped the Commanders fan’s beanie off his head and appeared to run off. The Washington supporter tried to retrieve his hat before walking away.

‘I know Philly fans are [scumbags] but this is beyond being a scumbag,’ Portnoy wrote while reposting the clip on X. ‘Total a**hole move to actually grab the dudes hat as he’s walking out.’

Unfortunately, this was not the only display of disrespectful behavior from Eagles fans this postseason.

Dave Portnoy slammed Eagles fans after a clip of them harassing Commanders fans went viral

After their wild-card win over the Packers, a Green Bay supporter was subjected to vile behavior from an Eagles fan who has since been banned and fired from his job.

Ryan Caldwell was filmed abusing a female Packers fan in a viral video, calling her an ‘ugly, dumb c***.’

It was, then, the latest controversy involving Eagles fans and it cemented the notion – at least in the eyes of their rivals – that these supporters are aggressive, unpleasant, even violent.

While other fans insisted they ‘don’t claim’ Caldwell after the incident, the encounter that followed the Washington game does not help their case in the eyes of the masses.

The Eagles will try to derail the Chiefs’ threepeat aspirations when they meet in New Orleans for the Super Bowl on February 9.
