Dave Portnoy slams right wing critics and says the White House ‘like me’ despite Donald Trump attack on leaked war plans

Dave Portnoy has hit out at his critics on the right after attacking Donald Trump this week over the scandalous leaked Yemen attack plans.
Barstool Sports founder Portnoy received widespread praise from both sides of the debate this week for criticizing Trump’s administration for appearing to downplay the incident. The editor of The Atlantic was accidentally included on a group chat among senior national security figures discussing an imminent U.S. bombing raid.
Portnoy said that Trump needed to fire someone if there were no offers to resign, aiming his anger at National Security Advisor Mike Waltz for ‘a f***-up of epic proportions’.
‘That is a hot take if you’re on the right,’ Portnoy said of his video on his ‘Unnamed’ Barstool podcast. ‘I’m the only one who calls it both ways.
‘That was a great take by me. My dad texted me and said “you gained a lot of credibility”.
‘It’s insane. They’re downplaying it, saying it is not that big of a deal. It is a huge deal. It’s like, you can’t do that.’
Dave Portnoy has repeated his criticism over the Trump administration’s leak of war plans

Both President Trump and Mike Waltz have both been criticized after the leaked texts
Portnoy was joined on his show by Kirk Minihane and Ryan Whitney, who agreed that the positive response to Portnoy’s ultimately logical take reflected on how ‘backwards’ the situation has become.
Portnoy continued: ‘It is (backwards). People are still like, if you’re a hardcore right they are like “you don’t know what you are f***ing talking about, you idiot”. It’s like what are you talking about, they put the attack out two hours beforehand.’
Later in the show, Portnoy watched White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt respond to a question about Portnoy’s take. She said she had ‘great respect for Dave Portnoy’ before referring to a previous answer.
‘Great respect! You know they like me when they won’t trash me,’ Portnoy said, seemingly watching the clip for the first time.
‘And I’m being treated by you two bozos like a second class citizen and the White House is showing great respect for me!
Minihane then told Portnoy: ‘They just need you on their side that bad, that “right-wing” content creator Dave Portnoy.’
Whitney joked that Portnoy needed to be careful Trump doesn’t turn on him
‘But you get Trump in the bad moment and he could put something up though on his own,’ Whitney said.

The messages revealed by The Atlantic on Wednesday do appear to contain sensitive information, including timing, target locations, and other major elements of the attack
‘Like f*** that guy?’ Portnoy asked.
‘Easily. Like two in the morning, definitely,’ Whitney joked.
Portnoy interviewed Trump at the White House in 2020, before Trump lost the election to Joe Biden.
