Fox News host Dana Perino ridiculed Democrat Elizabeth Warren for a dramatic speech denouncing billionaire Elon Musk for working inside the government to cut costs.
Warren joined Democrats at the Department of the Treasury to protest Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency staff access to the department’s financial transactions.
‘No one elected Elon Musk to nothing,’ Warren cried at the rally.
‘That’s right. ‘Not one Democrat in America voted for Elon Musk. Not one Republican in America voted for Elon Musk. Not one Independent in America voted for Elon Musk. Not one Libertarian in America voted for Elon Musk,’ she continued.
‘Damn not one vegetarian in America voted for Elon Musk. And yet Elon Musk is seizing the power that belongs to the American people, we are here to fight back.’
During an appearance on Fox News ‘The Five’ on Wednesday, Perino pointed out that former President Joe Biden made a series of decisions about government funding that were not something that the American people supported.
‘Elizabeth Warren also said that Elon Musk wasn’t elected, well neither were the people who were shoveling all the taxpayer dollars out to pay for electric vehicle credits,’ she said. ‘Who was elected that said it was okay to raid the Medicare Trust fund in order to pay for electric vehicle credits.’
Perino noted that the Biden administration also acted outside of Congress to forgive college student loans, an act that was deemed by the courts as illegal.
‘Even Nancy Pelosi said you couldn’t do that. Biden said I will do it and it didn’t matter to him that it was illegal,’ she said.

Republicans pushed back against the Democratic talking point, noting that Musk campaigned with Trump on the idea of increasing government efficiency.
‘They did however vote for Donald Trump who promised repeatedly to have Elon Musk root out wasteful spending in our government,’ noted Vice President JD Vance on social media.
Musk and Trump first discussed the idea of a commission focusing on government efficiency during a X.com Spaces conversation in August 2024 during the presidential campaign.

‘I think it would be great to have a government efficiency commission that takes a look at these things and just ensures that the taxpayers hard earned money is spent in a good way,’ Musk said. ‘And I’d be happy to help out on such a commission if it were formed.’
‘I’d love it,’ Trump replied. ‘You’re the greatest cutter … you would be very good.’
Trump and Musk cited Argentina’s president Javier Milei’s draconian government cuts as an inspiration, noting his actions were successful at fixing the country’s economy.
‘Argentina overnight is experiencing a giant improvement in prosperity,’ Musk said.
