Dr. Ayman Al-Shehabi, Governor of Damietta, congratulated the women of the governorate participating in the “Hands of Egypt” exhibition in Kharga, New Valley, on the success achieved by the Damietta pavilion, which included a large number of handicrafts and heritage products from Damietta, and the governorate’s receipt of a certificate of appreciation from the New Valley Governorate and the Ministries of Industry. And agriculture, which Mrs. Hanan Magdy, Deputy Governor of the New Valley, handed over to the women.
The pavilion also witnessed an inspection by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, accompanied by Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, where they praised the quality of the products displayed, which reflected the unique and distinguished skill of the participating women.
It is noteworthy that the women participating in the exhibition have received a number of training in the women-friendly city that was established in cooperation between the governorate and the National Council for Women and with funding from UN Women. These trainings, which came to develop women’s skills in handicrafts, heritage, and marketing fields, contributed to creating… Women entrepreneurs and supporting the goals of women’s economic empowerment, so the city won the UNESCO Learning Cities Award for the year 2021 and also second place in the models of successful public open spaces in Egypt with the Impact Program. The local conference of the World Urban Forum, which Egypt hosted this month.
The “Governor” thanked the New Valley Governorate, led by Major General Mohamed Al-Zamlot, and Mrs. Hanan Magdy, Deputy Governor of the New Valley, for the warm reception of the governorate’s women and providing them with the opportunity to participate in the exhibition and this honor.
