Counselor Amal Ammar meets with Sima Bahouth, the United Nations Regional Director, to discuss ways of cooperation
Today, Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, met with Dr. Sima Bahouth, Regional Director of UN Women, with the aim of discussing ways of cooperation between the two sides. This came on the sidelines of her participation in the meetings of the twelfth session of the Women’s Committee of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). ), and the high-level meeting on the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, held in the Omani capital, Muscat.
The President of the Council expressed her happiness with this meeting, Emphasizing that the issues of economic empowerment, capacity building programs, leadership, and political participation are on Egypt’s list of priorities during the coming period, she expressed her aspiration for continued fruitful cooperation with the United Nations.
She expressed Dr. Sima Bahouth, on the importance of the pioneering role played by Egypt in the Arab region in the field of women, security and peace, stressing the importance of cooperation and mutual support between UN Women and the National Council for Women, and praised the Council’s efforts during the last period that witnessed the era The golden age for Egyptian women during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
It is noteworthy that Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, has gone to Muscat, in the Sultanate of Oman, to participate in the activities of the two high-level meetings organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission.
