Coordination Salon discusses the fate of the old rental law after a ruling "Supreme Constitutional"
The Youth Coordination of Parties and Politicians held a discussion salon, entitled “The rule of constitutionalism and the fate of the old lease… towards a fair vision.”
Al-Sijini: There must be a minimum rental value for justice to be achieved
Representative Ahmed Al-Sijini, Chairman of the Local Administration Committee in the House of Representatives, stressed that there must be a minimum rental value for justice to be achieved, Adding that amending the law must be legal, disciplined, and consistent with the human reality in which we live, and can be applied effectively.
He added that a balance must be created between the two parties of rights, namely the landlord and the tenant, and they realize that the matter is not “pressing a button.” He explained that there are committees in the House of Representatives that carried out many studies on everything related to this file, and ended with a vision and a report, but it was not presented.
Al-Sijini pointed out that the state’s administrative apparatus cannot carry out this evaluation because it is a huge burden. Adding that the amendment must include a discussion of legal persons and include a gradation of whether commercial or residential.
Reda Farahat: The Supreme Constitutional Court ended the crisis
While Major General Dr. Reda Farahat, the former governor of Alexandria and Qalyubia, said that the Supreme Constitutional Court ended the crisis and the House of Representatives must study the situation as a whole, adding that there is a major problem. It is the landlord and tenant’s adherence to their acquired rights, and this was a major problem, and this situation greatly affected the old real estate wealth. As a result of neglect and lack of continuous maintenance and restoration, it eventually leads to demolition or removal.
Farhat added that the presidential initiative, “Housing for All Egyptians and a Paradise for Egypt,” is important and can contribute significantly to solving the housing crisis, adding that the time criterion must be taken into account gradually. The minimum wage standard must be taken into account.

For his part, Representative Amr Darwish, Secretary of the Local Administration Committee in the House of Representatives for the Coordination of Youth of Parties and Politicians, said that The House of Representatives statement was very disciplined to implement the ruling of the Supreme Constitutional Court, adding that we, as legislators, must seek to achieve the concept of justice because the current rental value is unfair.
Darwish added that there must be a minimum rental value and that It must be fair and equitable, and the philosophy of rental value ending with ownership must be applied, and there must be a national initiative to reconstruct the new cities that the state has created.
