Controversial Eagles Super Bowl winner CJ Gardner-Johnson hits out at the team on Instagram after getting traded

Eagles Super Bowl winner CJ Gardner-Johnson took a shot at his former franchise on Monday, as he revealed he had seen the ‘true colors’ of some following his trade to the Texans.

The defensive back, who who was a starter for Philly last year as they went on to win Super Bowl LIX, was sent to the Texans on March 11 along with a 2026 sixth-round pick, in exchange for guard Kenyon Green and a 2026 fifth-round pick.

Roughly a month later, Gardner-Johnson took to his Instagram story to speak about how he – and others – were handling the move.

‘People showed me their true colors when I got traded, s***,’ he said in a video. ‘That’s why you ain’t heard or seen from me.’

Gardner-Johnson did post a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the Eagles last month after he was traded, saying Philadelphia had ‘been a home’ to him.

‘This decision wasn’t mine, but I walk away proud of what we built together,’ he said.

The veteran notched six interceptions in the regular season and three tackles in the Super Bowl as the Eagles trounced the Chiefs 40-22.

After the game, Gardner-Johnson made headlines with his taunting of Kansas City star Travis Kelce and his pop star girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

On the Monday following the game, Gardner-Johnson posted a photo of him taunting Kelce during the Super Bowl, as he stood upright in front of the tight end with his hands behind him.

‘Should’ve Stayed with that thick s****’, he wrote, which is believed to be a reference to Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole.

At the parade, Gardner-Johnson kept his taunting up as he wore an X-rated hoodie insulting Swift and her fans.

The Eagles decided to move on from several other defensive players as well, as they also released defensive back Darius Slay.

Defensive ends Milton Williams and Josh Sweat were also allowed to walk in free agency, as they got big paydays from the Patriots and Cardinals respectively.
