Comprehensive health insurance bodies share their future vision with journalists and media professionals

 The first media forum for comprehensive health insurance is an open dialogue about the system and future plans for development

The General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance organizes the first media forum for the comprehensive health insurance system, with the participation of the most prominent leaders Comprehensive health insurance bodies and the health sector in Egypt, in the presence of an elite group of journalists and media professionals, which will be held over 3 days from Thursday, January 16, until Saturday, January 18. 2025.

The forum aims to shed light on what has been accomplished in the past period, at the level of improving the quality of health services provided to citizens within the comprehensive health insurance system, as well as providing a comprehensive vision of future plans, and clarifying the vision to journalists and media professionals, who in turn They will address it transparently to citizens through various media outlets.

On its first day, the forum will witness an opening session in the presence of Dr. Ihab Abu Aish, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance, May Farid, Executive Director of the Authority, and the leadership of the Authority, with the participation of Dr. Awad Matareya, Director of Universal Health Coverage at the World Health Organization for the Middle East Region. The session addresses the authority’s role in developing the comprehensive health system in Egypt and supporting the country’s vision to achieve comprehensive health coverage for all citizens. It will be followed by a session with the participation of Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Assistant Minister of Health and Population and the Ministry’s official spokesman, to clarify the supervisory role of the Ministry of Health and Population in the comprehensive health insurance system.  

The second day includes some dialogue sessions that address the main axes of the system, and begins with a session on “The Health Accreditation and Control System.” Within the comprehensive health insurance system and its role in ensuring that beneficiaries receive high-quality health services, with the participation of Dr. Ahmed Taha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control, and another session entitled “The Role of the Health Care Authority in the Comprehensive Health Insurance System”  Reviewed by Dr. Hani Rashid, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Health Care, followed by a session entitled “Health Services Pricing Mechanisms” With the participation of Dr. Ahmed Abu Talib, Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Pricing of Health Services, and Dr. Alaa Abdel Majeed, President of the Chamber of Private Sector Health Care Providers, to explain the pricing mechanisms used within the comprehensive health insurance system, and how to constantly update them to ensure achieving pricing justice for service providers within the system.

The second day concludes with two sessions on “Beneficiary Services.” and payment systems" With the participation of a number of the Authority’s leaders, including Dr. Ahmed Siam, Assistant Executive Director of the General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance, Sherif Al-Sharif, Head of the Central Administration for Beneficiary Affairs, Amr Zaki, Head of the Central Administration for Financial Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Abdel Razek, Head of the Central Claims Administration.  

The third and final day of the forum begins with a session on “The System of Service Providers in Comprehensive Health Insurance.” With the participation of Dr. Heba Atef, Head of the Central Administration for Service Providers, explains the mechanisms for the private sector to join the network of service providers in the system, and the Authority’s efforts to encourage them to join to expand the circle of choices for beneficiaries and enhance their rights in choosing a treatment destination, and another session dedicated to “The Digital Transformation System in Comprehensive Health Insurance” And the latest developments in technology applications within the system and their role in facilitating it for citizens, with the participation of Major General Engineer Osama Mounir, Head of the Central Administration for Digital Transformation, and Eng. Shiraz Samir, Director of the System’s Automation Project.

The forum’s activities conclude with an open dialogue session between the leaders of the General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance, journalists, and media professionals to answer all inquiries, with the aim of clarifying the vision about what was discussed during the forum’s sessions.
