Providence College’s athletic director has apologized for the school’s basketball fans directing an offensive chant towards BYU.
On Tuesday, the Friars – a Catholic school – hosted the Mormon university in men’s basketball and won 83-64.
And a video emerged on social media that night of fans chanting ‘F**k the Mormons’ during the game.
Steven Napolillo, Providence’s AD, apologized afterwards for the ‘unacceptable chants.’
‘I want to apologize to their coaches & institution for unacceptable chants by our student body tonight,’ he wrote on X.

BYU is the most prominent Mormon school in the US and has a strict honor code.
Rules on campus include no pre-marital sex, marijuana, alcohol or even tea and coffee.
Students are also required to regularly attend Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints services, according to the school’s website.
